Are you plagued by tiny flies on window sills during autumn, winter and spring? They look like fruit flies that you sometimes see in the kitchen during summer.

Yellow Swarming Flies migrate indoors as autumn approaches and again seen in early spring. Like Cluster Flies, which are much larger, they too enter the loft space and some migrate down to bedrooms, hallway and the bathroom areas. Often they magically arrive in very large numbers on a daily basis.

As their name suggests, they are small, have a yellow body and swarm in large numbers. Not too much is known about them except in their larval stage they consume small aphids from around tree roots and grasses outside.
